Hawaiian Oral Tradition Workshops

However, there are significant gaps in the storytelling resources available to local practitioners, particularly as younger generations lean towards digital mediums and Western narratives, which can overshadow traditional methods.
The barrier to effectively preserving and sharing Hawaiian oral histories is often compounded by the lack of funding for dedicated workshops and training in traditional storytelling methods. Local storytellers, many of whom are elders, often do not have the resources required to reach younger audiences or document their narratives effectively. Furthermore, the geographical isolation of many Hawaiian communities makes access to educational resources and workshops particularly difficult, leading to a loss of authentic storytelling practices.
